They usually turn into animals but sometimes they change into the alien creatures invading earth. But they have to touch the creature before they can morph into it.

Well anyway there's these parasitic slugs called yeerks that squeeze through a creatures ear canal and wrap all around the brain. Then once they've done that they take over the creatures body leaving the creature helpless to resist. (they reproduce quickly) Then they capture more and start taking over different worlds.

The only creatures that resist them are the andalites. Which are large part man, part horse, and part scorpion creatures.
